My name is Elmer and I have been patrolling the pond between holes 12 & 13 at Sawmill Creek for the last 8 years. Try fending off snapping turtles in 90 degree heat all summer while trying not to get hit by one of the 3000 wayward golf balls that enter my pond. Please log on and find out all the great things that are happening here at Sawmill. THE GOLF COURSE IS OPEN. As I waddle around the golf course I've noticed several changes that are currently under way. The biggest project that you will notice is the new tee being added on holes 10 and 15. The two tees are being combined into one very large tee and when finished it will make Hole #15 play 30 yards longer from the white tees. The other big project currently underway is fixing the drainage on holes 14, 15 and 16. Several areas are being fitted with new drainage tile that will allow for soggy, wet areas to drain better. That water will now drain into a new holding pond (lateral hazard) that is being dug on the right side of hole 15. You will also notice some new trees that were planted last November. Twenty-five large Red Maple trees have been added with the hope of them adding some additional beauty to the golf course. Finally, you will notice that the grounds crew has been extremely busy clearing out dense growth in many areas around the golf course. This will make the course much more playable and visually more scenic. Have a great month of May at "The Creek."Sawmill Creek Golf Club, where we exceed your expectations everyday, and every play. |
