Ryan Spicer and Chris Bleile developed a friendship while both attended Ohio University a few years back.
Now they are working together, Spicer is the head professional at Sawmill Creek Golf Club. Bleile is the Director of Golf at the Huron course.
Spicer, 38, has served as the club professional at Thunderbird Hills for the past seven years, and also initiated the girls golf program at Margaretta High School.
"I'm enjoy working with Chris. This is a very good opportunity for me," said Spicer, a native of Zanesville who attended West Muskingum High School, then played golf at Ohio University.
He was assistant pro at Zanesville Country Club for three years and also obtained his PGA membership card in 1992, then spent five years as the head pro at Golf Works in Newark. He then took the position at Thunderbird Hills in 1998.
Spicer and his wife, Karol live in Castalia with their children.
"We are certainly happy to have a man of Ryan's quality with us," Bleile said. "He has an extensive background in hard goods and he will do a little bit of everything for us, including golf instructions and running various clinics."
